The young people who participated in the Hikoi
ki te Hauora pilot. Their ideas, interest, input and evaluative
comments have ensured that this programme is relevant to all young
people.
The health education teachers from Kaitaia College, Taipa Area
School and Kaipara College, who piloted and trialled Hikoi
ki te Hauora. Their creative ideas and feedback have been
invaluable.
The health education teachers from Pakuranga College, who shared
their school's experience of implementing the use of Gem
of the First Water in their Year 9 Life Skills Programme.
The English Department at Selwyn College, which piloted the use
of Gem of the First Water as
an English text and shared innovative ideas which have been incorporated
into Hikoi ki te Hauora.
Far North community facilitators Graham Bauckle and Phil Cross,
whose wisdom and experience have enriched the development and
implementation of the project.
The Mental Health Foundation NZ and the Ministry of Health, which
supported the development of this material.
Gill Davey, Lynnaire Johnston and Owen Sanders for design, editing
and layout.
And, most importantly every New Zealander who donated
to such a worthwhile project. The Trust is awed by the response
it has received from companies and individuals alike who all saw
the need for a programme such as this. Without them, the development
of Hikoi ki te Hauora would
not have been possible.
